Styx is a jazzy opera with music composed by Chiel Meijering. The opera was performed at Fort Rijnauwen, an old fortress part of the Dutch defense line. The light design by Maarten Warmerdam primarily focusses on creating a contrast between the world of the living and the world of the dead. Doing this, a special interest was put into making it look like all visible lighting fixtures were part of their surroundings. Mike Evers acted as a dedicated assistant light designer for this production. More information can be found at the Holland Opera website.
