Ulrike Quade adapts ‘Munch and Van Gogh’ for outdoor festival

For the travelling theatre festival ‘De Parade’ Ulrike Quade adapted her theatre piece ‘The scream of the Sunflower’ about an imaginary meeting between the painters Van Gogh and Munch. Specially for the tent in which the performance took place a new light design was made by Floriaan Ganzevoort.

The light defined the playing area by many hanging lightbulbs from the beginning of the 20th century. The audience could watch the performance by looking through the light sources.

In reviews the light was mentioned for it’s scenic quality.
“The players, and most notably Cat Smits in her live duets with Munch and Van Gogh, bring the puppets skillfully to life, in a beautiful, through light designed space.” Erica Smits – De Theaterkrant.
