Since childhood Roel Biemold has been interested in mechanics and in drawing and creating objects. The urge to understand the underlying mechanism of devices and systems is still one of his major motivations.
Through his training in stagecraft in Zwolle, Roel came into contact with a field of work that fits many of his interests. These span technique, visuals and music, and these continue to challenge him in finding creative technical solutions.
His recent work includes touring and technical production of theatre with artists including Freek de Jonge, Paul Groot, Sanne Wallis de Vries, Jenny Arean and Liesbeth List.
More recently he did programming and advising on lighting and video technology for the live show of DreamWorks’ Madagascar in Asia and the Middle East and the implementation and programming of exhibitions at the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam.
Roel specialises in CAD and 3D visualisation software WYSIWYG, and he has a thorough knowledge of data distribution and network engineering (CISCO Certified).
