In the shade of shadows

Visual artist Florian de Viseer and lighting designer Floriaan Ganzevoort collaborated intensively, which resulted in an installation out of shadows and light. The installation ‘In the shade of shadows’ sketches the verticality of lines, building, rushes, chimneys. At the same time it shows movement of those lines, of the city, of wind, through time.

Visual artist Florian de Visser graduated with honours in 2008 from the Design Academy Eindhoven with the projects ‘Continuo’ and ‘OudsNieuws’. Both projects reveal hidden (real or imaginary) networks. Since then he focusses on ‘site-specific storytelling’: he tracks down stories from and about public space and shapes them. With his projects Florian tries to unveil the non-physical beauty of spaces and so to tickle the audience’s fancy. Fiction and reality always intertwine.

Floriaan Ganzevoort is a lighting designer for theatre, music, dance and spaces of all kinds. He graduated Theatre Studies at the University of Amsterdam on the subject ‘Light as a dramaturgical means’. From 2000 on Floriaan makes lighting designs for different companies. Because of his dramaturgical background the light that he design is always strongly connected to the contents of the piece. Floriaan specializes in the consecution of images and the timing thereof.
