Theory of Colours by Goethe.

In 1810 Goethe published his theory of colours. The book is a reaction to the in 1703-released theory by Newton. In his opinion the theory of Newton did not encompasses his own experience with the matter of light and colour. The book is rich in descriptions about light and colour phenomena and tries to make out a logical theory. Although the book was never scientifically accepted, the theory stands much closer to the human experience on the matter and has been a big inspiration to artist like William Turner.
