Tiny LED lights that appear to float at various heights above the canal and reflect in the water and in the mirrors on the quay wall. They flicker in the wind, extinguish or spontaneously reignite.

Benno Barends had the opportunity to collaborate with a select group of Lighting Design Academy graduates on a special project. A work of art at the Amsterdam Light Festival. After working through several submissions, Floating on a Thousand Memories was selected by the festival….

We not only created the lighting design for Floating on a Thousand Memories but we also prepared and executed (in the cold) this lighting installation.
