The fairy tale of Hansel and Gretel, adapted at the Dutch Touring Opera into a major opera production. Hänsel and Gretel are followed on their magical journey. Like all fairy tales, this opera asks an adult question: what do you do when you are tested by life?
The romantic music by composer Engelbert Humperdinck is full of dance rhythms and the opera is sung in German. With Dutch surtitles, the opera is easy to follow for children ages 10 and up.
